Katharine McPhee: I Wouldn't Be Surprised If Simon Ditched American Idol, Too

Katharine McPhee wasn't exactly shocked to learn that Paula Abdul was leaving American Idol.
"It doesn't surprise me, because it wouldn't surprise me if Simon Cowell was leaving the show," McPhee told me at last night's benefit concert for the Los Angeles Regional Foodbank and Feeding America.
"They've all been on the show for so many years…Do what you've got to do," she said. "People try to figure out the real stories and I'm like, 'Who cares? She wants to go.' "
In fact, McPhee thinks it's time for the show to shake things up a bit with someone like Ellen DeGeneres...
Double Date Night for Katy & Rihanna?

Katy Perry made her way back to Los Angeles this weekend, performing one of her tour's final shows at the Hollywood Palladium Saturday (you can watch it here). Upstairs in the VIP area, all eyes were not on "celeb" Perez Hilton who was in attendance (so cool he couldn't be bothered to take his sunglasses off the entire time inside), but rather on one of Katy's constant rumored love interests, Benji Madden.
Despite being quite short, B.M. was hard to miss with his standard fedora and tats on display. Benji was in a great mood, chatting with friends as he made a brief appearance upstairs before Katy took the stage. Mr. Madden went MIA during the show. Maybe to watch with Perry's "close friends" backstage?
After her fab performance, Katy headed over to club h.wood solo to meet new bestie Rihanna, who was not alone...

Newly single Katy Perry went to her blog to deny any romance with Benji Madden when rumors arose that she hung out with the rocker and friends at a Las Vegas nightclub on Valentine's Day.
"It's two pseudo famous people sitting next to each other...doesn't mean we were bumping uglies!" Perry wrote in part. "I was there celebrating a really fun show and a boozy Valentines with all my good friends. We were like a group of 25!"
Fair enough.

Reports of Katy Perry getting cozy with Benji Madden have been greatly exaggerated.
The “I Kissed a Girl” songbird is none too pleased about stories coming out of Las Vegas this weekend claiming she and the rocker ex-boyfriend of Paris Hilton appeared to be more than just friends while partying on Valentine’s night at Sin City’s Lavo nightclub.
She took to her blog to clear up the rumors: “oh kittens! It’s two pseudo famous people sitting next to each other...doesn’t mean we were bumping uglies!” Perry wrote in a post yesterday.

Britney Spears & Benji Madden: Nothing to See Here

True or false: Britney Spears and Benji Madden are totally getting it on, thanks to Pimp Daddy Spears.
According to Spears' rep, the answer is the latter.
“The claims made by In Touch are completely false,” she tells E! News. “There is not an ounce of truth to any of it.”
The tab’s claims involve Brit-Brit’s dad, Jamie Spears, and manager Larry Rudolph creating a whole Circus of potential suitors—Madden, Chace Crawford, Jesse Metcalfe and Michael Phelps among them.
Meanwhile, the Good Charlotter spent Monday evening at the D&G store opening with his ex, Paris Hilton, and they were both spotted at Christina Aguilera’s birthday party again Thursday evening.
Benji's Not Talking About Paris Split, Neither Is Stavros
While the news broke yesterday that Paris Hilton and Benji Madden are officially over, Benji stayed mum on the split last night when leaving Bardot (where DJ AM was also hanging).
Although the former lovebirds used to like staying in together, they've both gone out every night this week and managed not to cross paths.
Last night, Benji hit Bardot while Paris partied at Crown Bar. On Tuesday, P was at Apple Lounge while B was at Coco DeVille with Joel and Nicole. And Monday, the Hilton sisters karaoked at Villa while Benji hung at the Key Club.

Sounds like one of Paris Hilton's BFFs is cruising for a bruising.
Hours after her rep claimed Paris and Benji Madden were still together, the heiress' camp was forced to come clean and confirm to E! News that she and the rocker have indeed called it quits, after one of Paris' My New BFF contestants spilled the beans to a weekly.
"Paris and Benji have split," Vanessa Fontana tells Life & Style of their nine-month relationship. "I love Paris, and I just want her to be happy. I think that they'll be better as friends."
The BFF with the big mouth continued to blab that nothing happened between Paris and ex-beau Stavros Niarchos in Miami.

Paris Hilton and Benji Madden are finally back from their monthlong trip overseas—where they visited Africa, Germany and England, among other countries—and wasting no time getting back into the Hollywood swing of things.
The jet-setting duo hit Jade Jagger's dinner party at Chateau Marmont Monday night to celebrate Belvedere's Jagger Dagger. Mick's daughter designed a custom dagger worth $250,000 used to crack ice blocks to make special Belvedere cocktails. Slightly ridiculous, yes, but a party hosted by a Rolling Stones progeny does bring out the stars and socialites.
Paris (in a gold sequined dress from Jade's Jezebel line) and Benji arrived hand in hand shortly before dinner began at 9, and she was happy to talk about her new man and their travels together:
