Kanye Who? Lady Gaga Teams Up With President Obama

When you're sharing the stage with President Barack Obama, you kind of have to wear clothes.

And that was the unlikely matchup as the 44th president of the United States joked that he was the supporting act for the oft-pantless Lady Gaga, who performed at the Human Rights Campaign dinner Saturday night, before the National Equality March in Washington, D.C.

"It is a privilege to be here tonight to open for Lady Gaga," said the Nobel Peace Prize-winning president. "I've made it."

The diva ditched her wacky masks and leotards for a more serious black dress and John Lennon-esque shades as she performed the singer's "Imagine," changing the lyrics to reference Matthew Shepard's 1998 murder.

The college student's death has been a rallying cry for the gay rights movement. His parents, Judy and Dennis Shepard, were honored with the Edward M. Kennedy National Leadership Award at the dinner.

"I'm not going to play one of my songs tonight, because tonight is not about me," Gaga said before she sang and played a white grand piano. "It's about you."

Castmembers from Fox's Glee also performed.

Hollywood Acts Like It Won Obama's Nobel Peace Prize

Barack Obama, Twitter twitter.com/BarackObama

Mr. President, you've just been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. What are you going to do next?

Twitter, of course!

"Humbled," was all Barack Obama wrote on his account, but the post has been RT'ed so much throughout the Twitterverse that the word is near the top of the trending topics.

Needless to say, several celebs have chimed in with retweets and reactions positive and negative.

High School Musical's Corbin Bleu adds to his RT, "One of the reasons why I admire him." Modern Family's Jesse Tyler Ferguson writes, "Love it! Congrats Obombs!!!!!" Dollhouse's Eliza Dushku links to CNN's story and says, "Incredible!"

"OBAMA is the greatest," types Chris Brown.

Then there was one of our favorite tweeps, Kirstie Alley, who was dubious of the choice...

Race Is a Riot When Obama Meets Letterman

Last year it was whether he had insulted Sarah Palin by questioning if John McCain was trying to put "lipstick on a pig." But this year, President Barack Obama had some real controversies to clear up.

"First of all, I think it's important to remember that I was actually black before the election," Obama told David Letterman today, during his first Late Show sit-down since being elected.

"Really!" exclaimed the veteran talk-show host, to which the commander in chief replied, deadpan, "It's true."

"How long have you been a black man?" Letterman then asked. He had set off the joke by asking Obama whether he feels some of the more spiteful reactions to his health-care agenda have been racially motivated.

Thanks to Barack Obama, Marc Anthony's 41st birthday was one for the record books.

After touring the Oval Office, J.Lo and Marc got glammed up for the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute's black-tie gala, where Marc was receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award.

While the president was presenting his award, he said Jenny's hubby is quite popular with Latina Congress members.

"I'm telling you, J.Lo, watch out," Obama joked from the podium.

The Obamas weren't their only political powerhouse companions...

Interrupting Kanye Cuts Off Edward Cullen, Obama

Kanye West, Robert Pattinson kanyegate.tumblr.com

Kanye West and Taylor Swift have negotiated a truce. Phew! It took two blog apologies (IN CAPS!!!), one Leno apology, a View appearance and President Barack Obama getting involved, but we still managed to make it through this thing.

We stood together as a nation and said: Not cool, Kanye.

Even better, the Internet blessed the world with the Interrupting Kanye meme. If you think the real-life Kanye doesn't have any tact, well, the interrupting Kanye is even worse.

Whether it's Edward Cullen or the president, Kanye shows up with his mic, gives his "I'm gonna let you finish" speech and ruins everything.

Yes, there are more...

Charlie Sheen the Truther Teaches Obama About 9/11

Someone has clearly been in sitcoms too long: Give him a half-hour (minus commercial breaks) and there's no problem Chuck Sheen can't solve.

The Two and a Half Men star has loosed upon the Internet "Twenty Minutes with the President," an incredible piece of fantasy journalism (or a failed treatment from his dad's West Wing days, we can't be sure) imagining a meeting between himself and President Barack Obama in which Charlie Sheen schools the ruler of the free world about the government's real role in the Sept. 11 attacks—as perceived, that is, by the actor's conspiracy theorist mind.

The very lengthy, very researched and very self-aggrandizing piece (it only takes four lines before Sheen has Obama proclaiming his love of the CBS hit) was published as a transcript of the duo's entirely fabricated encounter—and published online by controversial radio host Alex Jones yesterday. Even more controversially, when the piece first went up, Jones presented it as actually having happened.

Though you'd think it would be easy enough to set up, what with a president in the family and all.

As for the piece, well, if there's one thing Sheen does know it's how to set a dramatic scene:

Yet another sign that Jennifer Lopez's diva days may be behind her: She's throwing parties for someone else!

Jenny from the Block already stumped for Barack Obama during his bid for the presidency, so it's no surprise she's also backing his pick for the Supreme Court—who happens to be a fellow Latina.

J.Lo threw Sonia Sotomayor, the first Latina Supreme Court Justice, a dinner party at her Long Island home last night, according to Gossipcop.com.

Hubby Marc Anthony cohosted the intimate affair, which featured a cocktail hour before the main event.

So how many people made the list for the political party?

Teen Scene: Twilight, Britney and...President Obama?

More from Marc Malkin

Twilight fans, rejoice!

Robert Pattinson & Co. have some of the best seats in the house at this weekend's Teen Choice Awards.

But before we get into who is sitting where and with whom, I wanna fill ya in on some other goodies I just got for you during my exclusive sneak peek of what's in store for the annual surfboard awards show.

Here we go…

Reports of Britney Spears performing during Sunday's taping of the show (it airs on Monday on Fox) have been greatly exaggerated.

Britney will be there, though. She's not only a multiple-nominee, but she's receiving the Ultimate Choice Award.

"But," says Bob Bain, executive producer of the show, "if at three o'clock on Sunday afternoon she calls and says, 'I've changed my mind,' we will figure it out and make it happen."

So, what's up with Twilight? Plus, did the Jonas Brothers, who make their debut as hosts of the show, snag President Obama to take part? Keep reading to find out...

Michelle Obama must be taking notes from Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, who brought their brood to McDonalds earlier this week. The first mom treated her kids to the Good Stuff Eatery.

I just got word that Malia and Sasha joined their mom and about 15 of her staffers for a lunch at former Top Chef contestant Spike Mendelsohn's year-old restaurant on Capitol Hill.

What was on the menu? Read on to find out.

Barack Obama Shares Birthday Cupcakes

More from H'Wood Party Girl

President Barack Obama knows that sharing is caring.

The president turned 48 today, but he brought cupcakes for a White House correspondent who happens to share the same birthday.

Obama stopped into the briefing room, unannounced, with a plate of cupcakes for veteran D.C. journo Helen Thomas, who turns 89 today.

He then led the room of reporters in a chorus of "Happy Birthday" and posed for a photo with Helen.

Although he didn't answer any questions about his own birthday, he seemed to hint at what he'll wish for when he blows out his candles...

AnnaLynne McCord to 90210: Hire My Sisters!

More from Marc Malkin

Gossip Girl just snagged Tyra Banks for an episode, so where does that leave its fellow CW show 90210 in the guest-star department?

If it were up to AnnaLynne McCord, 22, who plays Beverly Hills bad girl Naomi, her real-life sisters, Angel, 24, and Rachel, 20, would be joining her on 90210.

"I'm really pushing for it," McCord told me this weekend at Treesje's Magnolia collection trunk show at Kitson on Robertson Boulevard. "I really would love to have my sisters on because they really are my best friends in the whole world. It would be really cool if they could come and be Naomi's two new friends."

McCord's got a few more ideas...
