A Los Angeles woman has filed a class-action lawsuit against Miley Cyrus on behalf of the city's entire Asian Pacific Islander population, all of whom she claims are entitled to civil rights damages because of Cyrus' now infamous photo of her and some friends slanting their eyes.
According to Lucie J. Kim, she and her unwitting coplaintiffs—about 1 million in all, theoretically—are each entitled to $4,000 in damages.
Cyrus "knew or should have known that her image would be publicly disseminated via the media, which Cyrus knew focused on her private life, specifically TMZ," states the suit filed Wednesday in L.A. Superior Court and obtained by "specifically TMZ."
The 16-year-old Hannah Montana star has twice attempted to alleviate the situation via her blog, first by explaining that she was "simply making a goofy face" and again by literally apologizing.
"I really wanted to stress how sorry I am if the photo of me with my friends offended anyone," she wrote Monday.
Kim doesn't seem to think Miley's mea culpa was sufficient.
