Smackdown Poll: Lily Allen vs. Sacha Baron Cohen

Lily Allen or Sacha Baron Cohen—who's more worthy?

Each week we ask you to pick one item worth your cash in these tough economic times, and here are this week's contenders.

Allen's new collection It's Not Me, It's You goes up against Baron Cohen, Ben Stiller, Chris Rock, Alec Baldwin and the cast of the animated film Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa, just released on DVD.

Allen has the benefit of tabloid attention, which sometimes eclipses her actual talent, but It's Not You melds her public persona with catchy songs and tart lyrics, including the satirical greedfest "The Fear" and rollicking ode to sexual inadequacy "Not Fair." Plus, it's only $3.99.

Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa has some of the best comic actors working today, but the sequel, in which the quartet of lost zoo animals try to get home to New York, doesn't add up to much, unless you enjoy the overacting of Baron Cohen's lascivious Lord of the Lemurs or Baldwin's lowlife lion. We do, but still. Rent this.

Now it's your turn.
