Shia LaBeouf "Doing Fine" Following Second Hand Surgery

Somebody give Shia LaBeouf a hand.

The Indiana Jones star is on the mend after undergoing a second surgery on his seriously mangled left mitt.

A source close to LaBeouf confirmed to E! News that after originally postponing the follow-up procedure to finish filming on Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, the 22-year-old actor went under the knife two weeks ago.

The second surgery focused on correcting damage around the area of the thumb that was not fixed during an emergency operation immediately following his July rollover crash in Los Angeles.

"He's doing fine now," the source said.

The insider also smacked down a story in today's New York Daily News that claimed the injury was more serious than initially reported and that doctors had mulled the possibility of a "partial amputation."

LaBeouf was arrested on suspicion of DUI for the July 27 smashup, but authorities later declared he was not a fault, noting the other driver ran a red light.

The wound to his hand was serious enough to cause a minor snag in the shooting schedule for the new Transformers flick and prompted producers to write the injury into the plot.

However, LaBeouf's medical issues did force him to drop out of what was supposed to be his next project, the technology-themed thriller Dark Fields.
