Top Chef and the True Meaning of Christmas

Top Chef, Natasha Richardson, Padma Lakshmi, Tom Colicchio Bravo/Virginia Sherwood

What an episode of Top Chef: Martha Stewart! Natasha Richardson! Spoiled food!

Following a refrigerator foul-up, several chefs are in hot, unsanitary water as they find their food is ruined. As much as we would have expected evil cackling and tasteless taunting over that misfortune—you know that's what the Real Housewives would have been doing—the chefs instead demonstrate that before they're reality show contestants they are actual human beings.

One gift begets another and it's pretty soon it's like a reality show by O. Henry. And how can you argue with such goodwill, especially as the cooks are catering an amfAR benefit? You can't, people. So just sit back and enjoy.
