Ratings Report: Another Big Mother

How I Met Your Mother Eric McCandless/FOX

Monday's Big Winner: The laugh-track sitcom. CBS' The Big Bang Theory (11.4 million viewers, per Nielsen estimates), How I Met Your Mother (11.4 million) and Two and a Half Men (17.9 million), the night's No. 1 show, were up a combined 4 million viewers from last week.

The Downside of Success: CBS' Worst Week (12.1 million) had an even bigger Two and a Half Men lead-in to squander, and let NBC's Heroes (7.8 million) into the game in the adult 18-49 demo at 9:30 p.m.

Anything Else to Say About Heroes? Nope. It was even with last week. The show officially is what it is—a moderately more powerful Chuck (7.6 million).

What Terminator and Prison Break Need: Loads more men aged 25-54. The struggling Fox shows, which averaged 5.3 million and 5.7 million overall viewers, respectively, put up their best numbers in that demo.

An Idea That's Still Not Working: On ABC, a two-hour 20/20 (3.7 million) about the making of a high school musical did about as well (read: poorly) as the network's summer reality series about High School Musical.

Also-Rans: The CW's Gossip Girl (1.6 million) and One Tree Hill (1.2 million) were reruns; ABC's I Want a Dog for Christmas, Charlie Brown (7.4 million) was not A Charlie Brown Christmas (11.4 million last week).
