The Ruffalo family is taking it one day at a time.

"Mark Ruffalo and his family deeply appreciate the outpouring of prayers and support during this most difficult time of the passing of Scott Ruffalo, beloved son, brother and husband," read a statement released Tuesday by the actor's rep. "The funeral service will be private."

Ruffalo, 39, was taken off life support late Monday night, approximately a week after suffering a gunshot wound to the head. Police arrested a female suspect yesterday on an attempted-murder rap, which was expected to be upgraded to murder as soon as possible.

But while the cops don't have any new details about the alleged crime to impart, the defense is already showing its cards.

"We expect the coroners report to show the shooting was a result of the victim's chronic playing of Russian roulette and his dangerous playing with firearms while under the use of controlled substances," attorney Ronald Richards, who's representing suspect Shaha Adham, told the New York Daily News Tuesday.

Acknowledging that Adham, who surrendered to Beverly Hills police yesterday, was present when Ruffalo, 39, was shot, Richards said the gun belonged to the deceased and that his client was at Ruffalo's home to pick up her keys.

Police spokesman Lt. Tony Lee tells E! News, "There is no new information in the case. We are not going to release any details or motives of the incident because it is still an intense, ongoing criminal investigation."
