Rate-a-Trailer: Dying for Another Friday the 13th?

Loading...

The creators of the new Friday the 13th are obviously hoping to make a killing at the box office. Yeah, that was hokey, but then again, that's kinda what we think about the latest trailer for a flick that doesn't seem to have much to do with the original.

Which is why, instead of a calling it a remake, the filmmakers prefer to label it with the oh-so-sophisticated-sounding term re-imagining, thereby allowing them to tag on familiar elements from the 1980 horror classic—the creepy music, Crystal Lake and, of course, Jason Voorhees—to what essentially looks to be nothing more than a generic slasher flick conveniently wrapped up in a title that people recognize (though the addition of hottie Jared Padalecki is appreciated).

But what say you? Have a look and, um, stab us with your comments below…
