Ms. Winfrey Goes to Washington

D.C. is about to get a taste of the big O.

It's been confirmed that Oprah Winfrey will be leaving the cozy confines of Harpo's Chicago studios the day before President-Elect Barack Obama's inauguration in order to broadcast a live episode of her daytime chatfest from patriotic ground zero, Washington, D.C.

The program will air live on Monday, Jan. 19, from the Kennedy Center's opera house. A second live-from-D.C. show is being planned two days later, though a Harpo rep told The New York Times that details for the show—including any potential extra special guests Winfrey may or may not have publicly campaigned for—are still being worked out.

Which means, while she may have scuttled this year's Favorite Things bonanza out of respect for the economic crisis, she may still get the chance to showcase her most favorite thing of all—the 44th president of the United States.

Information on how to get tickets for the special episodes will be made available on Oprah.com next week.
