Heather Mills Presses the Press

Heather Mills' latest charity project: herself.

Paul McCartney's ex-wife, who, deservedly or not, has indisputably been vilified by the British press, is attempting to give as good as she's gotten. The former model has filed complaints against four U.K. newspapers that she feels have given her a particularly raw deal.

The British media watchdog group the Press Complaints Commission, to which Mills reported the perceived injustices, did not disclose the nature of the complaints, but confirmed they touched on "various issues including privacy and accuracy."

Three national newspapers, the Sun, the Daily Mail and the Daily Express, were targeted, as was a local tabloid, London Lite.

Mills' last public airing of press grievances was a little less official. She notoriously spouted off on a British morning television show back in October 2007, saying she was suicidal after unfairly being labeled a "whore, a gold-digger, a fantasist and a liar."

As for the current round of grievances, the PCC said an investigation has been launched into the complaints and could take up to 35 days to complete.
