Tabs Pay Up for Violating Sienna Miller Time

Sienna Miller may be broken up, but she ain't broke, thanks to a couple of U.K. tabs that have been forced to shell out for intruding into the shutterbugged actress' personal life.

Britain's Sun and News of the World have agreed to pay Miller $55,000 in damages, along with legal costs, to settle her complaint accusing them of harassment and invasion of privacy.

In a statement, her attorney Mark Thomson announced that London's High Court signed off on the agreement earlier today. In addition to the cold cash, the tabs admitted they were at fault for publishing "intrusive articles and photos" in June and July that exposed the 26-year-old star's affair with Balthazar Getty.

"We acknowledge that on the specific facts and circumstances of this case, you had a reasonable expectation of privacy in respect of the information and the photographs that we published," said Tom Crone, the attorney for the tabloids' publisher, News Groups Newspapers. "We also accept that we should not have published such information or photographs."

It's a bittersweet victory for Miller, coming just days after she confirmed her split with Getty.

Miller is still waiting to learn whether the tabloids' paparazzi partner, photo agency Big Pictures, is going to pony up for causing her "substantial harm, fear and enormous distress."

Barring a similar settlement, a trial is scheduled for early next year.

This isn't the first time Miller has scored against pesky paparazzi. Last month, the lawsuit-happy actress won $27,000 in damages over a separate incident.
