Hudson's Nephew's Death Ruled Homicide; Mom Blogs, "I Loved Him So Much"

The worst-case scenario has been confirmed: The Cook County medical examiner has ruled the death of Jennifer Hudson's 7-year-old nephew a homicide.

Julian King died of multiple gunshot wounds to the head, an official confirmed to E! News, while declining to disclose how long the boy had been dead. His body was found in a parked SUV early Monday morning, three days after Hudson's mother and brother were found slain in their south Chicago home and an Amber Alert was issued for King.

Although no arrests have been made, William Balfour, the 27-year-old stepfather of King and estranged husband of Hudson's sister, Julia, remains in custody as a "person of interest."

Documents unearthed today reportedly reveal that Balfour was arrested for drug possession back in June, but that state officials did not revoke his parole at the time. Technically he is not currently being held for the Hudson slayings, but for a parole violation after missing a meeting with his parole officer on Friday.

As for the murder case, the city's police brass have indicated that the city's surveillance cameras may have captured footage that will help their investigation come to a swift end.

"I suspect we'll have some evidence that will link us to the killer," Chicago Police Superintendent Jody Weis said Tuesday, adding that, aside from labeling the killings as "domestic related," no motive has yet been concretely revealed.

"It wasn't a case of a stranger-type homicide," she said.

Meanwhile, Julia Hudson has taken to her MySpace page to speak out on the tragic loss of her son, her brother, 29-year-old Jason Hudson, and her mother, 57-year-old Darnell Donerson, both of whom also died of multiple gunshot wounds.

"I guess it's time to update this," she wrote in the "About me" section of her MySpace page.

"Because I chose to do what was natural to me and love someone, it cost me my beautiful family my wonderful beautiful loving supporting mother Darnell, my true blue baby brother Jason, I love u big baby…and last but never not least my only son Julian, my innocent baby one that was sheltered from all the evil in the world because we loved him so much."

Hudson went on to thank everyone for their encouragement and prayers and paid tribute to her son.

"His lil soul is at ease, I take comfort in knowing that Julian is with my mother and my brother and most of all the Lord and now he's my angel he's protecting me."
