Another notorious pop-culture figure is getting ready to go on trial for the second time, again facing the possibility of life in prison if things don't go his way.

After about three days of questioning, a seven-man, five-woman jury was seated Thursday for Phil Spector's upcoming retrial for murder, which is expected to kick off with opening statements on Oct. 29.

The famed music producer and creator of the orchestral Wall of Sound is accused of shooting actress Lana Clarkson to death in the hallway of his Alhambra, Calif., mansion on Feb. 3, 2003.

Spector's first go-round ended Sept. 26, 2007, in a mistrial, with the jury deadlocked 10-2 in favor of conviction. The defense team argued that Clarkson, despondent over her love life and the state of her career, accidentally shot herself.

The selection of six alternate jurors was still in progress this afternoon.
