Scarlett's Noble Nobel Gig

Scarlett Johansson is giving peace a chance. Nobel Peace, that is.

The brand-spankin'-new newlywed has signed on to cohost the 15th annual Nobel Peace Prize Concert in Oslo Dec. 11, held as always the day after the Nobel Prize is handed out in Norway.

"We're extremely pleased Ms. Johansson will join us for the Nobel Peace Prize Concert," Geir Lundestad, secretary of the Norwegian Nobel Committee, said.

"Her compassion and influence will help us tremendously in our mission of spreading the global message of peace."

The announcement also heralded a return to the Scandinavian roots of the actress, who holds, for those unaware, dual U.S. and Danish citizenship.

Johansson's cohost for the event—headlined by Diana Ross and featuring performances by Feist and country star Dierks Bentley, among other more internationally bent artists—will be announced in coming weeks.
