Who would have ever thought that dancing with one's fellow stars would be such a risky business?

Fearing a Misty moment, Dancing With the Stars front-runner Brooke Burke made a precautionary visit to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center today after hurting her foot while practicing the jitterbug with partner Derek Hough (no stranger to the ER himself) on Sunday, according to an ABC rep.

Per People, the scare occurred when the 37-year-old mother of four came down hard on her right foot while executing a front flip. She applied ice to reduce the swelling and then visited the hospital Monday morning, where X-rays revealed a severe bruise.

Whether the injury will affect her leaderboard-topping scoring prowess remains to be seen, but the ABC rep said that Burke is ready to dance tonight, despite being a little sore.

And it seems as if all eight remaining contestants have reason to be paranoid.

What is now becoming the usual DWTS drama kicked off early this season when comedian Jeffrey Ross suffered a scratched cornea when Edyta Sliwinska poked him in the eye. Then Karina Smirnoff tweaked her ankle, and Misty May-Treanor was forced to drop out of the competition after rupturing her Achilles tendon.

And this isn't even the first misfortune to befall Burke and Hough: The former model's 23-year-old leading man, who injured his neck in practice last season and then developed food poisoning a week later, was rushed to the ER by ambulance Oct. 4 after daring to walk backward while rehearsing and subsequently tripping and hitting his head.

"As he tried to break his fall, by jumping up, his foot caught a stage light which sent him further into the air," Burke blogged after the accident. "He landed on his back on the wooden dance floor and smashed the back of his head. He was disoriented, blacked out for a few seconds, and was flattened out in pain. He couldn’t move, I sat beside him as he layed (sic) there and we waited for help to arrive.”

All was well afterward, but...yikes.
