Old Ladies Say the Darndest Things

This morning, Jane Fonda shocked the good folks who tune into the Today show by dropping the C-word when talking about her starring role in a 10th anniversary performance of The Vagina Monologues.

Despite host Meredith Vieira's blushing, Fonda succeeded in acting like nothing ever happened.

Ten minutes later, once the threat to the dignity of Today show viewers everywhere had been removed from the stage, Meredith did offer up an apology. But it was too late. Jane Fonda's "See You Next Tuesday" foible was permanently burned into their ears.

Of course, this comes right after Diane Keaton shocked Diane Sawyer with the F-bomb on Good Morning America last month.

We agree that these words shouldn't be commonly used around TV, especially on morning shows meant to give people that all-around good feeling. But there's just something so amusing about these frisky, older actresses with no sense of restraint that we can't be completely appalled.

However, we know when a good thing should come to an end, so please watch your mouths for the next couple of months, ladies.
