TV chatterers have been fretting for days about Barack Obama's strength with white voters in today's South Carolina Democratic primary. But whatever the Palmetto State outcome, Obama appears to have tight grip on the young-hottie demographic.
Scarlett Johansson told Associated Press reporters, "I am engaged to Barack Obama." As relayed by People, the statement was an obvious dodge of a question about whether Johansson is engaged to current romantic interest Ryan Reynolds.
With smooth deflections like that, Scarlett could have a future in politics. But probably not as Mrs. Obama, since there already is one.
Though unrequited, Scarlett's affections for the Illinois senator aren't entirely unexpected: She was an ardent Obama supporter in the Iowa caucuses.
