Idol Poll: McPhee Dumped...Who's Next?

Sorry, McPhans, American Idol 2006 runner-up Katharine McPhee has a lot more McFree time on her hands: She has been dumped by her record company, BMG.
It's only partly surprising, since Idol number twos often do better than winners. (Hello, Clay Aiken; goodbye, Ruben Studdard.) In a way, of course, McPhee did do better than winner Taylor Hicks—he was dumped by BMG before she was.
Obviously, the power of two isn't what it once was. While the waifish singer's CD did hit number two on the charts, it never went gold.
Let's hope her starring role in the upcoming flick I Know What Boys Like turns out better (and she has been working it, see photo above from the Spanx lounge at Access Hollywood's pre-Golden Globes swag mart).
