Beat the Bump

Nicole Richie has two due dates to race against.

Friends tell Planet Gossip cohost Tina Dirmann that the skinny starlet wants to be married as soon as possible, because "she does not want wedding pictures of her in a big old white dress, with a big old pregnant belly."

Nicole also wants a very large wedding. Plans so far include a guest list of about 200. "And pulling off a wedding that size, this quickly, well, it ain't easy," says the close Nicole pal.

Just how quickly? Well, Nicole is trying to get in her nuptials before Sept. 28, when she must complete her four days in county jail for her DUI conviction. Friends say the bride-to-be is hoping to get married, spend a few days with her new husband and then check in to jail.

Which could work out well, as Nic's fiancé, Joel Madden, is about to start a nearly three-week break from his national tour with his band, Good Charlotte.

Daddy Lionel has even offered his Bel-Air home as the site for the nuptials. And, sources say, Nic does love the idea of getting married at her papa's home.

Besides the free venue, she'd save on the evening's entertainment, since the award-winning crooner has promised to sing at her wedding. Sweet!
