Brit's Not So Secret Show

It was the worst-kept secret in Hollywood. Not only was Ryan Seacrest giving away tickets to Brit's hush-hush performance at the San Diego House of Blues on his KIIS radio show but tickets for the performance were selling for hundreds on eBay. The act was billed as the M+M's—apparently a tribute to Brit's new roles as both a mom and a miss. (For deets on her return, check out our news story.)

A lot of effort went into the 14-minute set at the San Diego House of Blues last night, including five songs, costume changes, dance routines and a light and smoke show. Too bad singing wasn't on the set list. Yup, it's being universally reported that Britney lip-synched her way through hits like "Baby One More" and "Toxic." Heck, we're not fans, and even we know the words to those.

So, she doesn't sing…or talk! Brit uttered only four words at the venue: "Thanks, everyone, for coming." But we gotta give her her due: Between keeping her hair on and her breasts covered, that's a lot of multitasking to expect for a first time back.

And it seems Brit almost didn't make it to the show. Cops pulled her tour bus over on the way down to San Diego…for driving too slow. Hey, that ain't very rock 'n' roll. But she got off with a warning and continued (ever so slowly) on her way.
