While I Reenact Bad Boys, You Go Ahead and Watch Some Zombies

Bad Boys Sony Pictures

I'm still recovering from covering Georgia Drool. That one really sucked the life out of me. On to bigger and better things, however, as I am now poolside at the world-famous Biltmore Hotel in Miami. I'm not here to visit where they filmed Bad Boys, you know that scene where they murder Mike Laury's old girlfriend? Nope, instead I'm down here to celebrate the wedding of an old, old friend (What up, Alexandra!).

The movie to see this weekend, everybody, is 28 Weeks Later, the follow up to 28 Days Later. If Robert Rodriguez's Planet Terror was an homage to zombie B movies, this one is a high-concept, high-brow grade-A zombie flick. Intelligent, stylish, scary and at times horrific, 28 Weeks Later will blow your head to bits!

And it's okay if you didn't see the first film; it's easy to catch up. Six months after a lethal rage swept through London and the British countryside, the zombie virus has been "contained," and civilians are beginning to repopulate the city.

And guess what! It's back, and a father must protect his two children from the monstrous disease. It's pretty badass.

It's also refreshing to see a high-budget film with no American movie stars. Besides the slightly recognizable Idris Elba (The Wire, friends with my man Clinton Sparks) and Robert Carlyle, the rest of the cast is made up of unknowns. Very cool.

Well, I'm back to mojitos and a lobster club as I load up before my afternoon massage. Awww yeah...bad boys for life.
