Breaking! Paris and Publicist Quickly Make Up After They Break Up

Don't be surprised to hear that Paris Hilton and her longtime publicist, Elliot Mintz, are back on. 

I just spoke to Mintz, and he tells me his announcement this weekend that he and the hotel heiress have split was "probably a bit premature." 

In court Friday, Hilton blamed the violation of her probation for driving with a suspended license on bad information that Mintz had given her. 

And just yesterday, Mintz announced that he and Hilton had parted ways. 

However, today he tells me he is "very optimistic" that the two will reunite. 

"We had a telephone conversation last night," Mintz said. "It was a good and healthy exchange. We are having dinner tonight...I think the world of her."
