Oops, Britney Wasn't Ready to Do It Again!

Where in the world is Britney Spears

I can tell you that she was supposed to be at Ivan Kane's Forty Deuce in L.A. last night for a surprise close-to-midnight performance. However, the embattled baldy nixed the plans just a few hours before she was to hit the stage.

Kane is surprised she pulled out. "She came on stage during rehearsal, looking very hot, with four backup dancers and sang three songs," he is quoted as saying on the club's Website. "They ran through the set several times, the choreography was smokin', and she sounded great."

I'm told Spears was worried that she still needs more time to prepare and rehearse for her first performance in what seems like a gazillion years. As everyone is aware, Britney hit a rough patch in recent times. From a failed marriage and public displays of wackiness to a stint in rehab, Spears' music career has been on the brink of extinction.

Britney is reportedly working on plans to hit the road again to perform at House of Blues venues. A source tells me that Spears has been trying to keep plans hush-hush, not even telling people at the dance studio where she has been rehearsing what she's actually working on.

As for Forty Deuce, Spears is no stranger to the Hollywood hot spot. Back in December, she reportedly had so much fun with the club's dancers one night that she stripped to short-shorts and a bikini top and jumped on stage for some pole dancing.

Spears' rep did not comment.
