A CSI Fox Talks Turkey
PETA
Here's a mystery: Can the 20 million or so viewers who tune in to CSI: Crime Scene Investigation each week be persuaded to go veggie? Tough to say. But Jorja Fox, who plays Sara Sidle on the hit CBS show, is on the case to change our eating habits as part of PETA's new Investigate Vegetarianism ad campaign.
The 38-year-old native New Yorker went vegan about 20 years ago. "I was having a meatball sub one day in Brooklyn, and it just clicked," she says. "I was in the middle of that sandwich, but I put it down—and I never ate meat again."
Fox is celebrating her PETA work with a vegan Thanksgiving-themed party this weekend in L.A., joined by fellow vegans Bill Maher, Kevin Nealon, Casey Affleck, Summer Phoenix, Maggie Q and Emily Deschanel. Despite the star power in attendance, the actual guest of honor will be a rescued turkey, who will dine on a feast of corn and vegetables. Fox and friends will gobble on—what else?—tofurkey.
