H'wood Party Girl
She's (almost) always on the list
Hey, Celeb Deejay
Want a surefire way to spot a celeb at just about any club? Head to the deejay booth.
A year ago, Lindsay Lohan started the trend when she would join spinmeisters like Samantha Ronson and Steve Aoki at the turntables. In the months following, I've seen everyone from Kid Rock to Haylie Duff to E!'s own Kim Kardashian try their hands at spinning. And just last night at Crimson for the Young Fabulous & Broke launch of MySpace TV's Roommates, Bijou Phillips rocked out as a special guest deejay—and she was awesome!
Just like the energetic gal herself (seriously, the girl never stops moving), Bijou's set was the perfect mix of get-up-and-dance tunes for the likes of Ian Ziering, Simon Rex and Britney Spears' LNA tank-clad assistant Alli Sims (finally Brit took a hint from the courts and nixed a night of clubbing).

Now, Bijou as deejay we can understand. After all, her long-term boyfriend, Danny Masterson, got into music mode years ago with his controversial pseudonym DJ Donkey Punch (he has since converted to DJ Mom Jeans). So, it only seems natural that the Mamas and the Papas leader's offspring would want to share her beau's scratching interest. But what's up with every other celeb's fascination?
"They like to deejay in the booths because it's the 'cool' thing to do," DJ Marshall Barnes explained to me later that night at his birthday party at Les Deux. I wanted to see for myself, so even though I refrained from donning the headphones, I stood behind the deejay booth, and I gotta say, it did feel pretty cool.
LiLo, you may have had some bad ideas in the past, but playing deejay wasn't one of them.
