Ronson Not Putting Perez Behind Her

Samantha Ronson still has a bone to pick with Perez Hilton.

The Hollywood DJ, who still counts BFF Lindsay Lohan as a frequent guest at her various club gigs, is looking to reinstate her defamation lawsuit against the celebrity-gossip blogger, which was dismissed in November after a judge determined that to proceed would be an attack on Hilton's freedom of speech.

According to documents filed Wednesday by Ronson's new attorney, David M. Bass, his client's previous attorney, Martin Garbus, had a conflict of interest over legal fees and didn't fight the case to the best of his ability, dropping Ronson as a client before he had deposed Hilton and failing to oppose the dismissal.

And not only did Ronson not get her day in court—or a sweet settlement—from her accusation that an item the dirt peddler posted in the wake of Lohan's May 2007 bust for DUI and cocaine possession insinuated Ronson had planted the coke and otherwise fed her friend to the paparazzi wolf pack, she was also ordered to pony up $85,000 for Hilton's attorneys' fees, as well.

Meanwhile, Ronson has also been sued for nearly $165,000 in unpaid fees from Garbus' New York-based firm, Davis & Gilbert LLC.

Garbus promised to charge the hip-hop singer and spinner no more than $75,000 and then sent her a bill for two months of work totaling $99,000, Bass alleged in yesterday' filing.

A hearing on Ronson's motion has been scheduled for May 13.
