Spice Girl and 'N Syncer's Reality TV Hookup

First Dancing, now Singing. Melanie "Scary Spice" Brown and Joey Fatone can't get enough of reality TV.

The Dancing with the Stars runners-up, and pop stars in their own right, are teaming up to cohost TLC's The Singing Office, a new reality competition pitting crooning coworkers against each other.

According to the erstwhile Scary Spice, the series will be pure escapist entertainment.

"It's not like American Idol or Dancing with the Stars," she tells the Associated Press. "It's not a serious competition. It gives people a break from their everyday lives to have some fun with their coworkers."

The show, which the cable net says will premiere in late June, sees the cohosts surprising employees at two separate workplaces and, after on-the-spot auditions, selecting the five best crooners from the crews to receive professional vocal and dance training.

After their boot camp, the two quintets then compete against each other in front of a studio audience.

Brown is fresh off her worldwide Spice Girls tour, and Fatone's professional dance card is free and clear after the ex-'N Syncer's previous reality show, The Singing Bee, did not make NBC's fall schedule.

Meanwhile, the hot-stepping duo is scheduled to reunite on the air even before the cable premiere. They are among the Dancing with the Stars alumni set to return to the ballroom May 6 in celebration of the show's 100th episode.
