Grandma Spills Beans on Margulies Baby
Everyone knows it's the grandparents who are supposed to do the spoiling.
Julianna Margulies, who quietly tied the knot with lawyer Keith Lieberthal in November, has given birth to the couple's first child, according to her mother's outgoing voicemail message.
"A beautiful baby boy has been born to us," mom Francesca says on the recording. "All is well. His name is Kieran Lindsay Lieberthal. Is that poetry? Do a little dance. Love this day! All is well. God bless! Can't wait to hear from you."
The birth was also confirmed Thursday by Margulies' rep, who first shared the news with Us Weekly.
Margulies, 41, and Lieberthal swapped vows Nov. 10 in Massachusetts in a traditional ceremony attended by family and friends. The expectant bride wore a flowing Narciso Rodriguez gown and elbow-length gloves, while Lieberthal donned an Armani suit.
"We're thrilled for her, and the young man she married is a wonderful person," Margulies' father, Paul, said at the time. He's no doubt tickled to be a grandpa as well, just as Lieberthal's dad is.
"Obviously, I’m utterly delighted to be a grandfather," Dr. Kenneth Lieberthal told People Thursday. "I have to say, he is cuter than any other baby I've seen."
Margulies, an Emmy winner for ER in 1995, returns to the small screen Apr. 14, starring in the Fox legal drama Canterbury's Law.
Since turning in her scrubs, she has starred in the TV movies The Mists of Avalon and The Grid, and most recently had a multiepisode guest arc as a drugged-out real-estate agent in the final season of The Sopranos.
