24's Rajskub Counts Down to Motherhood
You can accuse Mary Lynn Rajskub of taking her work home with her.
The 24 star, who plays the now-pregnant computer whiz Chloe O'Brian, is expecting a baby with her personal trainer beau, Matthew Rolph, People reports.
This will be the first child for both. The new addition is due toward the end of summer.
"With the strike going on, I had to keep busy!" Rajskub, who got her start as a standup comic, told the magazine. "We are thrilled and couldn't be more excited."
The 36-year-old actress and Rolph, 27, live together in Los Angeles.
Sort of like Kiefer Sutherland's jail sentence, the news seemingly couldn't come at a better time for 24, which along with so many others has been pushed into hiatus by the ongoing writers' strike.
While Rajskub could theoretically could use the time to rest, Chloe, who revealed to her ex-hubby, Morris, that she was with child at the end of season six, can ditch the prosthetics for a real, live baby bump if the strike ends in time.
The first eight episodes, or, eight hours, of 24's seventh season have been shot, but Fox opted to postpone the season indefinitely until a full day in the life of CTU can unfold uninterrupted.
Rajskub spent a lot of time making people laugh before inheriting Chloe's permanent scowl. She was one of the original cast members of the HBO cult classic Mr. Show with Bob and David, and in addition to various guest appearances moved on to meatier roles in The Larry Sanders Show and Veronica's Closet.
Her film credits include Road Trip, Legally Blonde 2: Red, White & Blonde, Sweet Home Alabama, Magnolia and Little Miss Sunshine.
Most recently, Rajskub was at the Sundance Film Festival promoting the dark comedy Sunshine Cleaning, which also stars Amy Adams and Emily Blunt as sisters who start their own crime-scene and biohazard cleanup service to make ends meet.
