Britney Primed to Party

Life hasn't been a picnic for Britney Spears lately, but apparently, there's always time to party.

The troubled pop star has agreed to host the Scandinavian Style Mansion gala, a swank gathering feting fashion houses from the European region, on Feb. 16, E! Online confirmed Thursday.

Danish fashion executive Claus Hjemblak, the event's founder and a member of the entourage that accompanied Spears on the wee-hours shopping tear that resulted in four paparazzi getting booked for reckless driving, told E! News that working with the "Gimme More" chanteuse would be a pleasure, as always.

"No matter what's happening in her life right now, Britney is still a style icon for women," Hjemblak said. "We are pleased to have her on board."

Spears last stumped for Scandinavian Style on Dec. 1. Next month's party will take place at a private home in Beverly Hills.

Of the impromptu 2 a.m. retail-therapy session at  West Hollywood boutique Kitson, Hjemblak said she and her friends were "just having fun."

"There was nothing weird at all," he said, further putting the kibosh on reports that the divorced mother of two rifled through Kitson's wares while topless. "She was completely normal, including in the changing room."

Despite the increasingly worrisome drama surrounding her, Hjemblak said Spears is doing "great."

"She's really sweet and down to earth and fun to be around," he said.

Meanwhile, the four shutterbugs who were busted Wednesday night (pre-shopping spree), after police spotted them tailing Spears at dangerously high speeds and making unsafe lane changes, were released early Thursday on $5,000 bail each.

Police identified the men as Roberto Maciel, 31, Leandro Gomes, 30, Filipi Teixeira, 27, and Eduardo Ravalah, 34.
