No Love for Playboy
Jennifer Love Hewitt may love her body, but she's not interested in educating the world about its finer qualities.
The 28-year-old Ghost Whisperer star has passed on a request to pose for Playboy, her publicist confirmed to E! News Wednesday.
"Jennifer was offered Playboy, and she did turn it down," rep Sarah Fuller said.
It's unclear whether the famous men's mag wanted Hewitt to go the full monty or if she was tapped for a more modest photo shoot, but now the newly engaged actress has joined the ranks of Jessica Alba, Nelly Furtado, Ashlee Simpson, Christina Aguilera and Katherine Heigl, all of whom reportedly turned down big money to play Playmate.
(Alba actually ended up on the cover without permission, in a still from Into the Blue, and threatened to sue until Hugh Hefner made amends with a donation to her favorite charity.)
Either way, Hef and his editorial board obviously approve of Hewitt's feminine figure, which despite measuring in at a wee size 2 was recently the subject of much misplaced message-board ridicule in response to some unflattering paparazzi shots taken while she was beachside with fiancé Ross McCall in Hawaii.
The mean-spirited buzz that referred to her as less than a bathing beauty spurred Hewitt to speak out on behalf of curvy women everywhere.
"Like all women out there should, I love my body," the Hanes underwear model and People's Choice Award nominee for Favorite Female TV star wrote on her blog earlier this month. "I know what I look like, and so do my friends and family.
"I've sat by in silence for a long time now about the way women's bodies are constantly scrutinized. To set the record straight, I'm not upset for me, but for all the girls out there that are struggling with their body image.
"A size 2 is not fat! Nor will it ever be. And being size 0 doesn't make you beautiful…To all girls with butts, boobs, hips and a waist, put on a bikini—put it on and stay strong."
Hewitt's beau certainly seems happy with the whole package. McCall, 31, popped the question over the Thanksgiving holiday.
