The Hoff Settled, Bach Not
David Hasselhoff has one less thing to worry about this busy holiday season.
After months of bitter feuding, the onetime Knight Rider star has reached a settlement with his ex-wife Pamela Bach in their postdivorce battle over financial issues, his attorney confirmed.
The duo also agreed to share custody of their two daughters, Taylor Ann, 17, and Hayley, 15.
The settlement went down at a Friday hearing that Bach attended, while Hasselhoff participated by phone.
"David is pleased to have the matter behind him," Hasselhoff's lawyer, Melvin S. Goldsman said. "He wants to move on with his life."
Bach's camp begged to differ, however, telling Extra in a statement that nothing has been finalized.
"Although Pamela has been working hard to put this divorce behind her and moving on, since David was unavailable to attend Friday's conference meeting, an agreement was not signed," a rep for Bach said.
"Once David returns from vacation and elects to attend the next scheduled meeting—which to date, he has not been present at any—a settlement may be reached. As usual, Pamela's top priority is being a fulltime mom to their girls."
The ex-couple reached their unagreed-upon agreement one week after they would have celebrated their 18th wedding anniversary.
Terms of the alleged settlement concerning Bach's requests for more spousal and child support were not made available, but Goldsman said he would be preparing a judgment for the judge's approval.
Bach's current attorney was not available for comment, but her former attorney Mark Vincent Kaplan said he was pleased to hear of the resolution.
"I'm glad for her, I'm glad for David and I'm glad for the kids that they all have this high-conflict matter behind them," said Kaplan, who currently represents Kevin Federline in his custody battle with Britney Spears.
Hasselhoff has had sole legal and primary physical custody of his daughters since June. Goldsman chalked up the revised custody arrangement to improved relations between the ex-couple.
In a further show of goodwill, Hasselhoff, 55, has also elected to allow Bach, 44, to remain in the Encino home they once shared until it is sold. He had earlier insisted that she vacate the premises, but has since had a change of heart.
The divorce has no doubt been costly for the ex-Baywatch star, who had already doled out an estimated $1 million in legal fees for his own bills, as well as some of Bach's, as of September, according to Goldsman.
Bach and Hasselhoff wed in December 1989. He filed for divorce in January 2006, and the split was made official seven months later.
