Jonas Brother's Legend of the Fall

No, Joe Jonas wasn't trying to perfect his Iggy Pop impression.

"Just a little blood but, whatever, rock and roll," the 18-year-old Jonas Brothers frontman said Sunday after taking a tumble onstage before his band's performance at the American Music Awards.

Joe tripped and cut his hand and knee on a piece of the "JB"-stamped prop glass that he and siblings Nick and Kevin had just burst through to announce their arrival. But while the stumble may have marred the drama of the moment, Joe regrouped like a pro and performed the Jonas Brothers' big single, "S.O.S.," without missing a beat.

"Once I got up it was so much fun. I decided to give it everything I have to give!" Joe wrote Monday on the band's MySpace blog.

It was only after he and his bros rocked out, he said, that he noticed he was technically injured.

"Someone said, 'Joe, you're bleeding!'" he wrote. "I had felt some pain but had no idea that there was so much blood. I noticed that my white suit had blood on the knees. I also had cuts on my hand. We called the medic and they cleaned up my leg and hands."

"Several people said that it was a true moment to see someone bleeding at an awards show," the band said, also recalling how Akon and Beyoncé stopped them backstage to give them their compliments.

"We also heard that Slash wanted a guitar from us!" they added.

The New Jersey-bred trio is currently opening for Miley Cyrus on the Disney Channel superstar's sold-out Best of Both Worlds tour, and they have also inked a deal to star in their own series for the cable network.

J.O.N.A.S., in which the brothers will play themselves (except for the part about moonlighting as secret agents) is supposed to premiere sometime in 2008. Their High School Musical-inspired TV movie, Camp Rock, premieres in January.

On Friday, the Jonas Brothers will host their first in a series of weekly music specials for XM Satellite Radio, during which the band members will spin their favorite tunes by other artists and provide scoop on the Cyrus-Hannah Montana tour—and chances to win tickets and merchandise, natch.
