Heather Mills Now Hiring
Heather Mills is down a husband, a publicist and now a law firm.
The estranged wife of Paul McCartney has parted ways with Mishcon de Reya, the law fim representing her in her divorce.
"We can confirm that she is no longer a client," a spokeswoman for the firm said Friday.
The firm, which represented Princess Diana during her divorce from Prince Charles, declined, as a matter of policy, to give any reason for the split.
However, it's believed that Mills' recent spate of venom-spewing interviews may have created a rift between her and the firm, as it did with her publicist, Phil Hall, who absconded last month.
Mills took to U.S. and U.K. airwaves last week and lashed out at both McCartney and the media, accusing her ex of failing to protect her during the split and the press of nearly driving her to suicide.
Far from expressing regret about her recent decision to speak freely, Mills has called her on-air emotional outbursts "cathartic."
"I've had 18 months of the worst press ever, and I got the chance to protect myself and my daughter," Mills told Britain's GMTV.
The loss of her lawyer leaves Mills in a race to assemble a new legal team ahead of February, when her divorce battle is due to go to trial—unless, of course, a settlement is reached ahead of time, which appears unlikely.
Neither McCartney, nor his legal team had any comment on the situation.
As Mills continues to publicly portray herself as a woman wronged, she's not winning any friends behind the scenes.
The View denmother Barbara Walters on Monday recalled a previous encounter with Mills, whom she called "so impossible" and "not a very nice woman."
Walters later denied that her anti-Mills stance had anything to do with the fact that McCartney is rumored to be dating her second cousin, Nancy Shevell.
"Barbara was unaware that Nancy was involved with Paul McCartney," Walters' rep, Cindi Berger, told E! News. "We just found out about that when the press alerted us."
"Barbara and Nancy are second cousins," the rep clarified. "Barbara is not her aunt."
McCartney was recently photographed kissing Shevell in the Hamptons, much to Mills' apparent disinterest.
"It's none of anybody's business what happens in Paul's love life," she said.
"Paul is a free man and can do what he wants."
