Sharon Osbourne's Bedtime Bother
Unlike Ozzfest tickets, home furnishings tend to come with a price tag.
A Studio City, California, design store sued Sharon Osbourne for breach of contract, fraud and deceit Thursday, claiming that she never paid for a $26,000 custom-made bed that was delivered to her family's home earlier this month.
According to the suit filed in Los Angeles Superior Court, the reality-TV star signed an agreement on Oct. 3 to buy the king-size bed, as well as custom drapes for her master bathroom and kitchen, from Beyond Pillows Etc. and have the items delivered to the Osbournes' Hidden Hills mansion.
Beyond Pillows and interior decorator Cheryl Law state, however, that the credit card Ozzy's wife gave to them only covered part of the cost and that she hasn't made any further efforts to settle the bill.
Osbourne's rep told tmz.com that Osbourne tried to give Law two different credit cards to pay for the goods but that the designer informed her that neither had been accepted.
But, the rep said, Osbourne's credit statement ended up listing two separate charges, both for the full amount, meaning that she had in fact paid twice.
The store has since fixed the error and Osbourne sent a check to pay for the bed and curtains, her rep said.
But while she has a well-known affinity for spending, the frequently bejeweled America's Got Talent judge is also planning on unloading a bunch of the possessions her family has acquired over the years, now that heavy metal scions Jack and Kelly have left the nest.
She and her hubby are planning to auction off more than 600 pieces of furniture, paintings, clothing, jewelry and memorabilia from their homes in Malibu, Beverly Hills and Buckinghamshire, England to raise funds for the Sharon Osbourne Colon Cancer Foundation.
The sale is set to take place Nov. 30 and Dec. 1, apparently against Ozzy's will.
"I don't know why we are selling everything, as I want it all," the 58-year-old Black Sabbath frontman said. "Sharon tells me that we have to, otherwise our house will [expletive] explode."
