Rascal Flattens Cole, Foo and Scott

These Rascals aren't so little anymore.

Country music's hottest trio, Rascal Flatts, still rules the rodeo as evidenced by its latest, Still Feels Good. The group's fifth studio album roped the number one spot, selling nearly 547,000 copies for the week ended Sunday, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

Rascal Flatts' previous album, Me & My Gang, sold 722,000 first-week copies in 2006, one of the biggest country music openings in history. Me & My Gang, which held the top spot for three consecutive weeks, still hasn't dropped from the Billboard 200. In its 78th week, the album experienced a 10-spot bump to 46, bringing its total sales to over 4.3 million copies.

Along with 2004's Feels Like Today, Rascal Flatts now has three straight number one albums.

Still Feels Good led a strong sales week, which featured 14 new albums in the Top 25.

R&B singer Keyshia Cole sold 281,000 copies of Just Like You to slide into the two spot. Cole broke big in '05 with her debut disc, The Way It Is, and critics are already calling her the next Mary J. Blige.

The Foo Fighters' Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace battled its way to number three (168,000), topping Jill Scott's The Real Thing: Words and Sounds, Vol. 3 at four (148,000) and Jagged Edge's Baby Makin' Project at eight (78,000).

Just missing the Top 10, the Grammy-winning and Oscar-nominated Queen Latifah sold 51,000 copies of Trav'lin Light to crown the number 11 spot. Melissa Etheridge's The Awakening debuted at 13 on 48,000 copies, Joni Mitchell's Shine sold 40,000 copies at 14 and Chaka Khan's Funk This funked out 39,000 copies at 15.

Tony Bennett, fresh off three Emmy wins last month, followed at 16, selling 36,000 copies of Tony Bennett Sings the Ultimate American Songbook, Vol. 1. The ultimate rap animal, Gorilla Zoe, was nipping at Bennett's heels at 18, moving 35,000 copies of Welcome to the Zoo.

The week's other noteworthy new entries included Dethklok's not-so-cheery The Dethalbum at 21, David Crowder Band's Remedy at 22, Iron & Wine's Shepherd's Dog at 24, Down's Over the Under at 26, Chris Botti's Italia at 27, Will.I.Am's Songs About Girls at 38 and the Cheetah Girls' TCG at 44.

The glut of big debuts helped to send last week's chart-topper, Reba McEntire's Reba Duets, down five spots to six. Reba Duets sold 130,000 copies in its second week, bringing its total to 432,000.

Newcomers aside, Nickelback reached an impressive milestone this week. All the Right Reasons celebrated its two-year anniversary on the charts, registering another 34,000 copies at 20, to bring its total to nearly 6 million.

Meanwhile, The Evolution of Robin Thicke celebrated its one-year anniversary at 112 with over 1.4 million copies sold to date.

Thanks to the barrage of debuts, overall sales were up 9 percent from the previous week, though sales remain down more than 8 percent when compared to the same week in 2006..
