Nic Too Cagey for Home Invader

Sweet dreams aren't made of this.

An Orange County man has been arrested and charged with burglary, after Nicolas Cage woke up early Monday to find the guy shuffling around his Newport Beach home.

Cage reported seeing a strange male in his home to his community's gate guard, who in turn called the cops.

Newport Beach police told E! News that Robert Furo Jr. was wearing Cage's jacket when the actor spotted him shortly before 1:30 a.m. The Oscar winner then escorted Furo outside, where officers took him into custody without incident a few moments later.

Police said there was no sign of forced entry, and Furo didn't give them or Cage (minus the trauma factor) any trouble. The Ghost Rider star's wife, Alice Kim, and their son, Kal-El, who turns two on Wednesday, were also asleep in the house.

Furo pleaded not guilty to felony burglary Tuesday and is currently behind bars. Bail was set at $100,000, and the 45-year-old, who identified himself as a tailor, is due back in court for a pretrial hearing Oct. 10. (View the complaint.)

While the celebrities' homes there are huge, and the view is spectacular, the O.C. has also turned into quite the hot spot for quirky "fans" and the A-list objects of their affection.

An alleged stalker supposedly tried to run down Monster Garage star Jesse James in the driveway of his and wife Sandra Bullock's Seal Beach home in April, as the actress and his son looked on. Marcia Diane Valentine has since pleaded not guilty to aggravated felony assault and stalking, but a restraining order still mandates that she stay 500 feet away from the family.

Meanwhile, despite his announcement late last year that he planned to take more time off between acting roles in order to pursue non-Hollywood interests, Cage's pipeline is crammed with projects.

The 43-year-old has finished shooting the action-adventure sequel National Treasure: Book of Secrets, due in theaters Dec. 21, and the thriller Bangkok Dangerous, in which he plays a hit man who falls for a local Thai woman as the bodies pile up.

Next up, speaking of taking time between projects, Cage is attached to director Milos Forman's film Amarillo Slim, as well as to the boxing drama The Dance and a comedy called Time Share, costarring Will Smith.
