Ex-Karate Kidder Nabbed for DUI

It's been a rough few weeks for General Hospital players of the past and present.

One day after news broke that GH star Kirsten Storms was arrested last week for suspicion of drunken driving comes word that Sean Kanan, who made several appearances on the soap in the mid '90s, was booked for DUI last month.

Kanan, 40, was arrested at around 3:45 a.m. on Aug. 18, a police spokesperson said, while declining to provide any details of the arrest.

He was taken into custody and released a few hours later on $30,000 bail.

Per the Los Angeles City Attorney's Office, he faces one misdemeanor charge of driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs and one misdemeanor charge of driving with a blood-alcohol level of 0.08 percent or higher.

Kanan is due back in Hollywood Municipal Court on Monday.

In addition to General Hospital, the actor's credits include a lengthy stint on The Bold and the Beautiful and a role as Ralph Macchio's nemesis in 1989's Karate Kid III.

According to TMZ, which was first to report his arrest, Kanan was previously convicted of DUI in 1998.
