Stripes Cross Out Tour

The White Stripes won't be painting the town red anytime soon.

The Detroit rock duo announced they have canceled the remaining dates of their fall tour, citing "health issues."

"Meg White is suffering from acute anxiety and is unable to travel at this time," the twosome said Tuesday in a posting on their official Website. "We hate to let people down and are very sorry."

Ticketholders will be able to obtain refunds at the point of purchase, according to the Website.

The rockers have been touring in support of their latest album, Icky Thump, which debuted at number two on the Billboard charts in June.

They had been scheduled to perform in Albuquerque Thursday and at the Austin City Limits Festival on Saturday. From there, they were due to remain on the road through Oct. 10, wrapping up their trek in Honolulu.

While the North American leg is off, the Stripes are still slated to play a nine-date tour of the United Kingdom, beginning Oct. 24 in Glasgow.

It remains to be seen whether Meg's anxiety will be under control by then.

It's not the first time the Stripes have been forced to rework a tour due to health concerns.

In 2003, the band postponed its summer tour after Jack White broke his finger in a car crash.  The dates were later rescheduled.
