Jenna Elfman has opened a new chapter in her life.

The actress and her husband, Bodhi Elfman, welcomed their first child, a boy named Story Elias, on July 23 in Los Angeles, her publicist confirmed.

The baby, who weighed in at a healthy seven pounds, two ounces, is a fan of "classical music, a clean diaper, mom's boobs and long naps," according to a statement on Elfman's official Website.

"Story wants to give big props to his mom for all the hard work," the statement continued.

Apart from her maternal duties, the onetime Dharma & Greg star is attached to play the lead in the upcoming comedy pilot Literary Superstar, about an overworked book publicist. Last year, she starred in CBS' short-lived series Courting Alex.

Meanwhile, Bodhi is next slated to appear in the musical comedy The Sixth Element, written and directed by his father, Richard Elfman.

Both Elfmans recently appeared in a video short for Will Farrell's Website funnyordie.com, in which Jenna and her sizable baby bump schooled several players in a pickup basketball game.

The new parents met while auditioning for a Sprite commercial in 1991; they married in 1995.
