Lindsay-Fueled 911 Call Released
The cops who responded to this call apparently had no idea they were about to make tabloid headlines.
The woman who called 911 early Tuesday morning to report that a huge SUV was chasing her repeatedly referred to her pursuer as a man, obviously not realizing that it was Lindsay Lohan behind the wheel, according to the call released Thursday by the Santa Monica City Attorney's Office. (Listen to the recording.)
"We were just about to park our car, we were turning home, and out of nowhere, a huge white GMC came up," said the voice on the phone, which supposedly belongs to the mother of one of Lohan's assistants, whom police say the starlet was chasing. "We're at 4th and Wilshire, we're coming down right now, we're being followed by a white GMC, the gentleman jumped out of the car, and [raising her voice] oh my God, sir, they're following us! We need help!"
The 911 dispatcher then asked where the woman was calling from.
"Right now we're on Arizona...Oh my God, are they following us?" the caller continued. "Okay, right now we're on Santa Monica...We're driving to the police station right now...We're at 4th and Broadway. We were just coming home...and all of a sudden he came down a side street...We're driving to the police station...sir, please? The gentleman came out of his car…Oh my God! What is he doing? Oh my God, oh my God...Go! Go! Go! Go! Go!"
According to police, officers were called to the parking lot of the Santa Monica Civic Center, near the intersection of Pico and Main Street, where they found Lohan, who had been driving a GMC Yukon, in a "heated dispute" with the people in the other vehicle—presumably her former assistant and the girl's mom.
Police say Lohan had two passengers in the car with her when she was arrested. Aside from Lohan, none of the others in either vehicle has been publicly identified.
The police report states that Lohan's blood-alcohol level was between 0.12 and 0.13 at the time and that cocaine was found in her pocket after she had been taken into custody.
She was subsequently booked on suspicion of driving under the influence, driving with a suspended license and cocaine possession before being released on $25,000 bail. The troubled 21-year-old is scheduled to be arraigned Aug. 24.
