Forlani and Scott's Molto Bene Wedding
No suburban melodrama, no crime scenes…what a lovely day for a wedding.
Claire Forlani and Dougray Scott tied the knot Friday in a private civil ceremony in Italy, People reports.
Close to 120 guests gathered to celebrate with the British CSI: NY actress and the Scottish Desperate Housewives actor at an elegant reception at the Forlani family's country home in Pievebovigliana.
"They're both very excited," a source told the magazine.
Forlani, 35, wore a classic white strapless gown by designer Junko Yoshioka for Bonaparte-NY and Jimmy Choo high heels. She accented her wedding 'do with a Swarovski crystal-studded hairpin.
The actress' father Pierluigi, who's Italian, told the newspaper Il Resto del Carlino last week that his daughter had arrived to oversee the preparations and that he would be serving as the "official cook of the event."
Forlani's parents—her mother was British—relocated the family to San Francisco when she was about 21 to be closer to Hollywood, in order to better accommodate their daughter's career aspirations.
The star of film fare such as Meet Joe Black and Mall Rats met Scott about a year and a half ago through a mutual friend, and Scott, 41, popped the question in Los Angeles in September, offering up a ring he had designed himself.
"It was very romantic," the actor told People at the time. "I feel so lucky to have met her. She's an amazing actress and human being. I'm very happy."
This was the second trip down the aisle for Scott, who divorced casting director Sarah Trevis in August 2005 after about five years of marriage. They have nine-year-old twins, a boy and a girl.
While his character on Desperate Housewives, Teri Hatcher love interest Ian Hainsworth, has decided to hightail it back to Britain, Scott will next be seen in the World War II drama The Cone Gatherer, costarring Emily Watson, and, per IMDb, the political conspiracy thriller Hitman, with Timothy Olyphant.
Forlani gets her hands dirty on a weekly basis, meanwhile, playing medical examiner Dr. Peyton Driscoll on CSI:NY. Her next big-screen project is the Irish drama Shamrock Boy, about an IRA gunner who's being hunted by both his own people and the British military.
