Sizemore Settles Up, As Legal Troubles Mount
Two down, who knows how many to go for Tom Sizemore.
The legally challenged actor has settled a pair of lawsuits brought against him by State Farm Insurance and his ex-girlfriend, Heidi Fleiss, according to documents filed in Los Angeles Superior Court on Friday.
Terms of the settlements were not disclosed, and the details of the State Farm case were not immediately available.
Fleiss' legal battles with Sizemore, on the other hand, have been well chronicled over the years.
The former Hollywood madam sued Sizemore in 2004, claiming she suffered emotional distress after the actor threatened to contact authorities about alleged parole violations that could have sent her back to prison. She also accused Sizemore of destroying or giving away furniture, clothing and artwork from the Beverly Hills home they once shared.
The ex-couple began their volatile relationship shortly after Fleiss finished serving a 21-month prison sentence for tax evasion, money laundering and attempted pandering in 1999.
Though they were reportedly once on track to get hitched, the relationship fell apart after two years, and Fleiss subsequently went to the authorities with allegations of abuse.
Sizemore was convicted in 2003 of seven counts of domestic abuse involving Fleiss, including criminal threats, vandalism and making obscene and harassing phone calls.
He was free on bail pending an appeal in that case when he was arrested on drug charges in Bakersfield, California, last week and booked for investigation of possession of methamphetamine, being under the influence of a controlled substance and possession of narcotic paraphernalia.
On top of the Fleiss abuse case, Sizemore was also on probation for a 2005 drug conviction at the time of his latest run-in with the law. If authorities determine the arrest constitutes a probation violation (which seems like a no-brainer), he is likely to face a mandatory prison sentence.
