Sandra Restrains Hubby-Gunning Woman

She didn't wait two weeks, but Sandra Bullock has given notice to the woman who attempted to run down her husband.

Bullock requested and has been granted a temporary restraining order against Marcia Valentine, just days after it emerged that the woman, an accused stalker of the movie star, attempted to wipe out Bullock's Monster Garage-hosting spouse during a late-night visit to the duo's Orange County, California, home.

Bullock, husband Jesse James and James' three sons, ages 3, 10 and 12, were all listed on the order, which was approved on Tuesday by Orange County Superior Court Judge John Watson. The order prevents Valentine from coming within 500 yards of the family, their homes, cars, schools or places of work, and prohibits her from making direct or indirect contact with any of the brood. Valentine is also barred from owning firearms. (View the court documents here.)

Should Valentine break the order, the Bullock-James clan has been granted permission to record her attempts to communicate, be it vehicularly or otherwise.

In her court petition, Bullock said that Valentine has a history of harassing the family, even before the Apr. 22 incident in which she allegedly tried to run over James "three or four times" after he found her lying in the driveway of the couple's Seal Beach abode. The incident was witnessed by Bullock and 10-year-old Jesse Jr.

According to court documents, Bullock claimed that Valentine had previously trespassed on the couple's property "on several occasions" and had also thrown "numerous signs and other objects over their gate."

In the filing, Bullock also said she feared that "when [Valentine] gets out of jail, she may make further attempts" to run over or otherwise harm James or another member of the family.

Since Bullock filed the papers, the 45-year-old Valentine has already been released. Valentine was booked at Orange County Women's Jail on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon last week and freed Apr. 27 after posting $25,000 bail.

Valentine allegedly attempted to make mincemeat of James on Apr. 22 but managed to get away before police arrived. It wasn't until the following day that cops picked her up, after a patrol car spotted her cruising, once again, near the duo's home.

Prosecutors haven't filed formal charges against Valentine, pending a May 22 hearing on the car-assault allegations.

A separate hearing in connection with the restraining order is set to take place on May 11, at which point Valentine will be able to state her case, should she so wish, as to why the court-ordered ban is unnecessary.
