Minnillo Says Tootles to TRL
From now on, Vanessa Minnillo's interaction with boy-banders will be restricted solely to her personal, not professional, life.
The veteran MTV personality, and Nick Lachey steady, has opted to leave her position as host of Total Request Live this summer after four years of manning the daily countdown.
"I had my four year there like high school or college," she told People. "I'm ready for the next chapter—what it is, I have no idea. [But] I don't want to be 48 saying, 'Hey kids, now it's Sean Preston Spears' video.' "
The 26-year-old former Miss Teen USA joined the cable net in 2003, where in addition to cohosting TRL, she has anchored several specials for the network.
"Vanessa will always be part of the MTV family and we wish her the best of luck in her future endeavors," the network said in a statement.
Minnillo, whose presence on the Top 10 video show has waned in recent months, has already parlayed her basic cable tenure into more lucrative onair gigs. She appears as a regular red carpet correspondent for Entertainment Tonight and has a cameo role as one of the Human Torch's love interests in the upcoming Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer.
Still, while Minnillo is apparently moving on to bigger, better and slightly more mature things, she will nonetheless miss spending her weekday afternoons as a star-struck screaming teen wrangler.
"There's an adrenaline rush that goes with that," she told People. "It's so exciting to be able to leave and say I loved it and I'm going to miss it."
Up next, Minnillo debuts a limited edition makeup line for Flirt! Cosmetics, due out in August. Beyond that, she's slightly less clear, though equally as excited about the prospects.
"I don't know if it's going to be with a television show, with movies, with hosting, or maybe just even a family," she told TV Guide of her future plans.
She's already halfway to the latter.
According to People, the former beauty queen and her 33-year-old boyfriend moved into their first joint digs in Manhattan just two weeks ago, a two-bedroom condo that counts rapper Eve among its high-profile occupants.
The bicoastal couple, who have been dating for a year, also reportedly share digs in Los Angeles, after Minnillo moved into Lachey's Bel-Air mansion earlier this year.
