Lindsay's Knee-Knocking Night with the Paparazzi?
While Lindsay Lohan's no stranger to swarming hordes of photographers—or the vehicular troubles they cause—her mom's BMW apparently isn't used to all that attention.
Around 3 a.m. Tuesday, hours before her father was released from an upstate-New York prison where he was serving time for a DUI and probation violation, Lohan faced the usual gaggle of shutterbugs as she pulled up to the valet at Hotel Gansevort in Manhattan's Soho neighborhood.
Then, something or other happened that resulted in one of said shutterbugs, who reportedly had trailed her from the nightclub Butter to the boutique hotel, ending up on the ground.
Depending on whom you ask, either an overzealous paparazzo jumped onto the hood of the white 2004 BMW to get a closer look at Lohan and her pals, totally freaking them out, or, the 20-year-old Mean Girls star abruptly put the car in reverse and then drive, knocking INF Photo employee Giovanni Arnold, who was merely standing in front of the vehicle, over in the process.
The former is how Lohan described the incident to police, according to the New York Post.
Meanwhile, INF is standing by the latter explanation, telling the Post that Arnold was treated for a bruised knee at nearby St. Vincent's Hospital after his alleged run-in with the recently rehabbed starlet.
"She got out of the car to look at Giovanni on the ground as she's talking to a cop, and then she's allowed to leave," INF sales director Dawn Leikness said. "The other photographers there threw a fit that she was allowed to leave. The cops then asked her friends to call her to come back, and she came back."
Lohan's rep could not immediately be reached for comment.
The World Entertainment News Network reported that Lohan left the scene in her bodyguard's SUV, paparazzi in tow, and returned about an hour later. According to WENN, police cited two photographers for pursuing Lohan's driver down the wrong way of a one-way street. An NYPD spokesperson could not immediately confirm that account.
No stranger to paparazzi-fueled smashups, Lohan's Mercedes was rear-ended Nov. 7 in the middle of the night by an eager lensman who had been on her case all evening.
