Ugly Betty Actor Engaged
While he may not be as fashion-savvy as her onscreen teenage son, the real man in Ana Ortiz's life apparently knows a thing or two about jewelry.
Ortiz, who plays spunky older sister Hilda Suarez to America Ferrera's Betty, has made plans to tie the knot with musician Noah Lebenzon in June, People reports.
The couple, who have been betrothed since Lebenzon got down on one knee last August after asking for Ortiz's father's blessing, will swap vows in her family's native Puerto Rico.
"I'm really thrilled and my cheeks are hurting from smiling," Ortiz told People. "He's a California boy, so it's a nice balance for my crazy New Yorker."
It's looking to be an eventful off-season for the Ugly Betty crew, with Ortiz's news coming on the heels of executive producer and recent guest star Salma Hayek's announcement that she's expecting a baby with fiancé Francois-Henri Pinault. The news had the cast abuzz Monday at the Museum of Television and Radio's annual Paley Festival, according to E! Online's Kristin Veitch.
Actually, quite a bit of love has been in the air on the Betty set this year. Ashley Jensen—Mode closet stylist Christine—eloped with boyfriend Terence Beesley in January, getting hitched in a forest in Big Sur, California, with the family dog, Barney, standing in as ring bearer.
So far in 2007, ABC's hit freshman show has scored Best Comedy Series wins at the Golden Globes and the NAACP Image Awards, with Ferrera pocketing Best Actress honors at both of those ceremonies as well as at the Screen Actors Guild Awards.
