An Ugly Elopement
Ugly Betty's best bud has tied the knot.
Ashley Jensen, the British import who plays America Ferrera's fashion-closet pal Christine on the hit ABC series, has eloped with longtime boyfriend Terence Beesley, per People magazine.
According to Jensen, who also shares the screen with Ricky Gervais on HBO's Extras, the couple swapped vows Jan. 22 in the forest in Big Sur, California. On hand was the family dog, Barney, who performed ring-bearer duties, and a minister, who took care of the rest.
"It was about our marriage. We didn't want to be worried about napkins, you know?" the 37-year-old actor told People—supposedly right after sharing the good news with her mom first. "It was about us."
Jensen says she was on a break from Betty and decided to "seize the moment" with Beesley, her boyfriend of seven years and a fellow actor with credits on several British TV series, for a "beautiful, beautiful magical wedding...It was brilliant."
Before rising to fame as the saucy Mode magazine seamstress, the Scottish actor made her splash Stateside on Extras in 2005, playing Maggie Jacobs, Gervais' partner in bit-partdom. The show is currently in its second season on the pay-cable network.
It's that busy work schedule that will likely put honeymoon plans on hold, at least for a little while. Jensen was back on the Betty set by Thursday.
Still, she says she's the "luckiest girl." Even Wilhelmina Slater can't rain on that parade.
