Julia Roberts Back for Thirds
Julia Roberts has a new project in development.
The Oscar-winning actor is expecting her third child with husband Danny Moder, her rep, Marcy Engleman, confirmed to E! News on Friday.
Word of the pregnancy was first reported by the New York Post's Page Six column.
The couple, who wed in 2002, are already parents to two-year-old twins Phinnaeus Walter and Hazel Patricia, who were born in November 2004, after a difficult pregnancy that resulted in Roberts being confined to bed rest for the final weeks.
Though the twins were born several weeks ahead of schedule, they were healthy, both reportedly weighing in at over five pounds—and gaining fast ever since.
"I just love them," Roberts told Oprah Winfrey in a recent interview. "They're fun and happy and honest and just fill me with so much joy. I guess I didn't realize that you could really just like your children as much as your friends, you know?"
Roberts, who most recently provided the voice of the beloved spider in Charlotte's Web, told Winfrey that being a mom has had positive effects on her psyche.
"I definitely feel that I've expanded as a human being," Roberts said. "I have more empathy and more compassion, I think, because I feel so blessed on a level that I can't even wrap my mind around really."
Little wonder she's ready for more of the same.
The third Roberts-Moder coproduction is due this summer. It's unknown how the pregnancy will affect Roberts' professional life, or whether she'll take a hiatus from filming as she did when her twins were born.
As of now, Roberts' upcoming projects include coproducing and starring in the upcoming drama Happiness Sold Separately, along with a leading role in the film adaptation of the memoir Eat, Pray, Love.
Roberts was also reportedly considering a leading a role in The Friday Night Knitting Club, a script acquired by her Red Ohm production company last month.
She is currently shooting the political drama Charlie Wilson's War with Tom Hanks and Philip Seymour Hoffman, helmed by her Closer director Mike Nichols.
